Welcome - This is inside the Shepherd's head!

Hello everyone, my surname is “Shepherd”. I have no idea if my great-great-grandparents were really shepherds but I have always hated people asking me “Hey . . Where are your sheep?”.

Ah Ah Ah - Your mother! … Easy =) =)

Fortunately, school days are long gone, like so many of those nice friends. Today, I work as a Cloud Architect in a small company in Italy and mainly consult on Kubernetes. One day, grappling with yet another cluster, I had a moment of irony and said to my colleague:
It’s true, I am a shepherd, but my sheep are the pods”.

He’s still laughing… It is a metaphor, but I was not wrong, managing a Kubernetes cluster is like managing a flock of sheep.

In ancient times, the shepherd’s role was in a broader sense that of a guardian and as such protected the flock from predators of any kind (Hackers… but often, from our own development teams :P ). A shepherd is also a skilful connoisseur of mountain (workaround) or lowland (porkaround) paths, he was also responsible for their maintenance.

… However, as time went by, this comparison became my working philosophy.
